Morning’s Early Light
The early morning light in the garden is beautiful. This morning it was still damp from a late night shower and there was just a touch of fog.
The colors of the Japanese maple are just exquisite this morning in the early light; although it is tricky to capture in the picture.
The newest veggies are visible from a distance now…bush beans, carrots, leeks, and cucumbers. The broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, and tomatoes survived last week’s hail storm. As my sister reminded me that our dad would have said that no tomato plant was worth anything until it had weathered a storm.
The guara is getting ready to bloom. The second bloomer in the perennial bed.
The sumac is indeed going to survive as well as the fig tree that seemed to really suffer the cold this winter. Sometimes you just have to patiently await growth to appear in the spring.
Finally, the poor beaten up broccoli persevered through the hail storm and is about ready to harvest.
What is new in your garden today?
